Bobst reveals IPEX2010 ‘visitor experiences’.

At IPEX2010 Bobst will deliver three distinct visitor experiences – a virtual post-press experience at the show and live demonstrations at two nearby sites – a Packaging Experience at Hinckley’s Printing & Packaging Co. Ltd., and a Commercial Print experience at the Bobst Training Centre in Redditch. Both sites are within 30 minutes of the IPEX2010 venue.
Nigel Tracey, Business Director, Business Unit Sheet-Fed, said, “The idea is to give visitors a choice, depending on their interests and on how much time they have to spare. If, say, they are a commercial printer just starting to think about doing more with post-press, then our virtual post-press experience will take them all the way through the value-adding processes we can deliver.  For those that have a little more time, we will be able to take them to our Commercial Print Experience at our Redditch Training Centre, where they will see a commercial print job being die-cut, then folded and glued. At both locations our foil stamping, die-cutting, and folding & gluing specialists will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on any aspect of these processes, even down to discussing specific problems they might be having with specific jobs.”

The Commercial Print Experience will feature a Bobst COMMERCIAL 106 die-cutter and a VISIONFOLD 110 capacity folder-gluer. The commercial job being run will be a four colour, 2-up, capacity folder with a 7mm gusset, typical of commercial print die-cut work.
For packaging industry visitors to IPEX2010, Bobst will have specialists on the stand ready to discuss any aspect of packaging converting and they will also have the opportunity to visit the Bobst Packaging Experience at Printing & Packaging Co. Ltd in nearby Hinckley.
Joe Sall, Chairman, Printing & Packaging Co. Ltd., said, “We are delighted to be able to open up our facilities to IPEX2010 visitors so that they can see our two, brand new, Bobst machines in action. The EXPERTCUT 106PER and MASTERFOLD 110 we have just installed are state of the art lines which are giving us exactly the production boost we need to meet increasing demand for our cartonboard and microflute products.”
The EXPERTCUT diecutter purchased by Printing and Packaging is the first of the model in the UK to feature bottom-reading of printed marks on the sheet, ensuring perfect die-cut to print register on increasingly popular litho-laminated substrates.
Bobst will be providing free transport daily to Printing & Packaging Co. Ltd. and the Bobst Training Centre. Transport to the Packaging Experience will depart the Bobst Group stand (Hall 20, stand C674) at 1030am on each day of the show, and to the Commercial Print experience will depart at 1.30pm daily. The Commercial Print experience will also be open to visitors for two days (26 & 27th May 2010) following the end of IPEX2010 to enable commercial printers to visit who we unable to do so during the show itself.
